Alison Bennett
Resume
Alison is a performer and writer with a specialisation in comedy and clowning. As the Artistic Director of Hurrah Hurrah, she has directed and created Frenzy for Two, The Seagull, TRADE, Roomba Nation and The Centre of the Curious Affliction for Living. She is a regular collaborator on the Sydney Opera House Digital Education Program and has facilitated large scale international programs including ‘Global Conversations’ in the Asia Pacific Region & ‘International Jazz Day’. With The Sydney Opera House she is also currently developing a motion caption program and an interactive, site specific installation for young people.
Most recently Alison has appeared in Join the Dots (Sydney Opera House/Sydney Festival/Spiral Japan), The City (Sydney Opera House), The PM’s Daughter (ABC Me), Whirl’d (2 Kats Productions/ABC Illawarra), The Lonely Spirits Variety Hour (Platon Theodoris), Zelos (Painted Gate Pictures), TROUPE (commissioned for Bestival Music Festival UK) and The Magic Hat (Casula Power House).
She has taught at NIDA, NIDA Open, ATYP, Chopt Logic, Langues-en-Scène (Paris), The International School (Paris), Parramatta Riverside & Casula Powerhouse. She has a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Drama) from Monash University and trained at École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris.
