Discounts, terms and conditions
By enrolling in and/or attending a course, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions:
Cancellation and Transfers
- Once a course has commenced no refund or credit note is possible.
- If you miss a class, a credit or refund is not applicable, nor is attending a replacement class.
- Should NIDA need to cancel a course a full refund, credit or transfer to another course will be offered. We accept no liability for any other costs. We advise you phone the office prior to making accommodation or flight bookings to verify the course is going ahead.
- Cancellations received more than 5 working days prior to the commencement of the course will incur a 20% cancellation fee or you may request a credit note for the full amount.
- If you need to withdraw from the course within 5 working days prior to the commencement of the course you must notify NIDA in writing to request a credit note. The credit note will be valid for 12 months.
- Substitutions of participants can be made prior to course commencement by notifying NIDA in writing, provided participants are eligible for the course.
Conditions of Enrolment and Participation
- You understand and voluntarily assume all innate and obvious risks associated with the course, including, but not limited to all risks of personal injury and any losses caused by or arising from acts or omissions of the course coordinators and staff.
- You indemnify us against any proper claims, costs or damages arising from any breach of these Terms and Conditions.
- NIDA reserves the right to make amendments to its programs without prior notice either before or during a course or to cancel a course.
- NIDA reserves the right to merge published age groups and structure classes as required.
- NIDA reserves the right to refuse any enrolment as permitted by law or to request a participant to leave a course if they are disruptive, consistently late or have not paid their fees.
- NIDA may take and use photographs or videos for promotional and archival purposes.
- NIDA online classes are recorded for quality monitoring, child safety and training purposes. All images and recordings are stored securely in NIDA digital storage. By enrolling in a NIDA Open class you and/or your child are agreeing to be recorded for these express purposes. NIDA will not distribute or otherwise use this recording for anything other than the aforementioned purposes without your written, express permission.
- Should NIDA staff deem it necessary for an ambulance to be called the cost will be incurred by their participant or their guardian/parent.
- Participants may not publish, distribute or upload recordings (audio, videos or photos) of any activities at NIDA or other course venues or from NIDA online activity for any publication or social media website.
- Where recordings of classwork or digital learning assets such as scripts or pre-recorded video are provided, this material remains the copyright of NIDA and can only be used by the participant for personal use, it may not be copied, sold, screened publicly or submitted to agents, festivals or for school projects.
- Closed in, flat shoes should be worn for all classes.
- If you are less than eighteen years old, you and your guardian agree that your enrollment and/or participation in the course is adequate consideration for your obligations set out in these Terms and Conditions and that you and your guardian consider the provisions of these Terms and Conditions to be reasonable and for your benefit.
- If you are eighteen years or older you agree that you have read and understood the provisions of these Terms and Conditions.
- By enrolling in a NIDA course I agree to NIDA’s Privacy Policy, www.nida.edu.au/privacy.
- By enrolling in a NIDA course I agree to comply with NIDA’s COVID-safe procedures and follow any direction from staff to ensure a COVID-safe environment at NIDA – see Health and Safety – Face to Face learning for more information.
- For the performance based courses, it may be necessary for a voice, movement or other tutor to support your training with physical contact. Likewise, it may be appropriate for other students to come into physical contact with you when engaging in an exercise.
Safety, Wellbeing and Inclusion
- NIDA Open takes seriously its commitment to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment, free from bullying, discrimination or harassment. We do not tolerate or condone actions of anyone – students, staff or visitors – that constitutes bullying and harassment towards anyone engaging with NIDA and its associated activities. NIDA complies with all laws and regulations associated with these matters.
- Bullying refers to behaviour where any person– student, staff or visitor – directly or indirectly, repeatedly behaves (words or actions) unreasonably towards a person or group of people to cause distress and that behaviour creates a risk to health and safety or hinders that person’s ability to attend a NIDA venue or participate in NIDA activities.
- Harassment refers to behaviour when any person – student, staff or visitor – causes another person to feel belittled, intimidated offended, apprehensive or singled out.
- If a student, staff person or visitor is accused of bullying or harassment, NIDA Open management will investigate the situation and consult with all parties. In the event that the investigation is ongoing but unresolved, it may be deemed necessary to temporarily restrict attendance to a class or NIDA venue as a precautionary measure.
- Any person who is found to have either committed or condoned discrimination, bullying or harassment may be removed permanently or restricted from attending NIDA activities or venues.
- NIDA Open reserves the right to temporarily or permanently exclude a student from enrolment in classes, or restrict their access to NIDA facilities based on behaviour that contravenes any of the terms and conditions of enrolment.
Discounts
Earlybird Discount
Enrol at least four weeks before courses begin for children and young people and two weeks before for adult short courses to receive 10% off.
- This discount is available off the full price of a course only, unless otherwise mentioned in conjunction with another discount.
- The earlybird discount is only available on select short courses, as advertised on each course page. NIDA Studio courses are not eligible for an earlybird discount.
Discounts
Spring Holidays – Mulitiple Booking Discount
- Purchase a two-day and 3-day short course in the same week, in one transaction to receive a 15% discount off the full price of each course. This is subject to the below terms and conditions:
- Please note that this offer is not available for online booking. To book, please call the NIDA Open office on 1300 450 417.
- This offer is valid for the combination of a two-day and three-day NIDA Open short course for Children and Young People offered within the same week in any Australian location.
- This offer is valid for the Spring Holiday Program only.
- All classes booked as part of this offer must be for the same person and cannot be transferred to someone else.
- Courses purchased under the multiple booking discount offer cannot be refunded. If you need to withdraw from a course, you must notify NIDA in writing to request a credit note. The credit note will be valid for 12 months.
- Should NIDA Open need to cancel a course, a full refund, credit or transfer to another course will be offered (specifically pertaining to the cancelled course only).
- This offer can be used in conjunction with the Early Bird discount.
- Multiple Booking Discount cannot be applied retroactively.
- Multiple Booking Discount cannot be applied to courses at Taronga Zoo.
Creative Kids NSW

As a registered provider for the Creative Kids program, you can redeem your voucher with us and let your child develop new skills. Enrol them in a new activity so they can create something great.

- The Creative Kids voucher is not issued by NIDA, it is issued by the NSW Government through Service NSW.
- The $50 voucher can be used towards any NIDA Open short course for Children and Young People in NSW.
- A Creative Kids voucher cannot be applied retrospectively to a NIDA enrolment. The voucher must be provided before payment is made and enrolment finalised.

Adults multiple booking discount: face to face classes
Students enrolling in two adult short courses purchased together in one transaction are entitled to a 15% discount off the full price of each course. Students enrolling in three adults short courses purchased together in one transaction are entitled to a 20% discount off the full price of each course. This is subject to the below terms and conditions:
- Please note that this offer is not available for online booking. To book, please call the NIDA Open office on 1300 450 417.
- This offer is valid for any combination of NIDA Open short courses for adults on sale at the time of booking, in any Australian location, to the exception of Audition, Online, Residency and Studio courses.
- Multiple booking discounts are for adult classes only and are not available for children and young people. All classes booked as part of this offer must be for the same person and cannot be transferred to someone else.
- Courses purchased under the multiple booking discount offer cannot be refunded. If you need to withdraw from a course, you must notify NIDA in writing to request a credit note. The credit note will be valid for 12 months.
- Should NIDA Open need to cancel a course, a full refund, credit or transfer to another course will be offered.
- Discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount.
Enrol in four term classes for children and young people, a full year in advance to receive a 15% discount off the full price!
- Discount only applies to term courses for Children and Young People.
- Discount is only applicable when booking into four terms or two semesters within the same calendar year.
- Discount is not available online. Please book over the phone by calling the office on 1300 450 417 to receive the discount.
- If students do not attend all four terms or both semesters, the discount is no longer valid.
- This discount is only available up-to the second week of term 1 in each calendar year and cannot be applied retrospectively.
Concession and Industry Card Holder discount
Holders of the following concession cards or industry memberships are entitled to an additional 5% off the cost of all NIDA Open courses: Australian Government Health Care Card, Arts Hub Membership, MEAA Membership
- Proof of your membership or concession card status must be provided prior to enrolment to receive the discount.
- Valid concession card and membership holders may use this discount in conjunction with the Early Bird Discount. No other discounts can be used in conjunction with this offer.
- This discount may be applied to any Studio, Residency or Short Course program enrolment.
- The name on the membership or concession card must match the name of the person being enrolled, this discount cannot be applied to a third party enrolment.
- This discount cannot be applied retrospectively to past courses or applied to a completed transaction.
- This discount is not available online and can only be applied by calling the NIDA Open Customer team on 1300 450 417.
- Expired or incomplete memberships or concession cards will not be accepted.
- NIDA reserves the right to withdraw or alter this offer at any time.
