What makes a great speech memorable? Is it the content, the delivery or the passion? Or is it the perfect blend of each? Discover Public Speaking techniques to engage and enthral audiences and build your confidence to be that memorable speaker. Under the guidance of a NIDA expert develop skills in voice, movement, storytelling and presentation. Speak from the heart as you present speeches to your family and friends at the end of the course.

Course components

• Vocal Expression: Investigate effective vocal technique.
• Communication: Learn strategies to deliver powerful speeches that will engage a variety of audiences.
• Writing for Presentation: Discover how to effectively research content and use it to construct a speech.
• Rehearsal and Evaluation: Learn how to practice and gain feedback through a development and rehearsal process.

• Flights and accommodation: From time to time we may need to cancel an advertised course. Before booking flights and accommodation for travel to attend a NIDA Open course, please contact the NIDA Open office to confirm if your course will proceed as planned. NIDA does not accept liability for any associated costs of attendance or cancellation.
• Please ensure that you have given a valid email and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via email or sms.
• Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
• Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
• Participants must provide their own lunch, including snacks and drinks.
• Children attending primary school grade equivalent holiday courses must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian.
• NIDA staff will supervise students in courses for Grades 3–6 and Grades 7–10 in their breaks. These students will not be permitted to leave the advertised venue without parental permission.
• If you are running late to collect your child, please call NIDA reception on 02 9697 7600. NIDA will only provide supervision during advertised course times.
