Get ready for three days of outrageously fun on-screen antics as you act out scenes from famous hero, villain and spy adventures. Stop moving trains, intercept international secrets and save the world, all from the safety of the rehearsal room! Discover how to work with green screen technology, develop skills in characterisation, rehearse and film scenes to camera.
Course components
- Technique: Practice acting to camera techniques. Discover the difference between live and recorded performance craft.
- Character Development: Develop and record a character from a scripted scene.
- Text interpretation: Bring to life through the application of NIDA acting technique a short written text for live and recorded performance.
- Screen technology: Experiment with green screen technology

- Flights and Accommodation: From time to time we may need to cancel an advertised course. Before booking flights and accommodation for travel to attend a NIDA Open course, please contact the NIDA Open office to confirm if your course will proceed as planned. NIDA does not accept liability for any associated costs of attendance or cancellation.
- Please ensure that you have given a valid email and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via email or sms.
- Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
- Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
- Participants must provide their own lunch, including snacks and drinks.
- Children attending primary school grade equivalent holiday courses must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian.
- NIDA staff will supervise students in courses for Grades 3–6 and Grades 7–10 in their breaks. These students will not be permitted to leave the advertised venue without parental permission.
- If you are running late to collect your child, please call NIDA reception on 02 9697 7600. NIDA will only provide supervision during advertised course times.
