Skills NT - Screen Acting on Location

Rehearse and perform scenes from contemporary film and TV and gain confidence in acting boldly but honestly for the camera on location.  Follow industry standard shooting practices with an industry professional tutor in the cinematic surrounds of some of Darwin’s iconic landscapes.

Course components

• Master the technical approach to Screen Acting; unpack eye-line, building a relationship on camera and hitting your mark
• Explore characterisation techniques and their application to scripted text
• Introduction to the challenges of shooting ‘on-location’: learn about consistency of performance, location scouting and working within the limitations of the environment

Outcomes

• Ability to use acting technique to create truthful on-screen characters
• Demonstration of capacity to rehearse and present scenes authentically on demand
• Aptitude to collaborate and work within the challenges presented when shooting on location

Pre-requisites

Completion of Acting Technique and Acting for Screen Courses or similar experience. 

Course enrolment is open to people over 18 years old. This course is available specifically for residents of the Northern Territory.

• Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
• Please bring along a pen, notebook or electronic device and a bottle of water to all classes.
