Skills NT - Acting Technique for Screen

Explore visual storytelling and relationship to camera as you develop an understanding of acting for screen. Rehearse and film a scene.

Course components

• Application of acting skills to a screen context.
• Script analysis and character development.
• Develop a rigorous and personal approach to a rehearsal process.

Outcomes

• Ability to create dynamic and specific on-screen performances.
• Confidence working with the technical elements of on-screen performance.
• Knowledge of on-set etiquette and professional practice.

Pre-requisites

Previous acting experience. 

Course enrolment is open to people over 18 years old. This course is available specifically for residents of the Northern Territory.

• Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
• Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
• Please bring along a pen, notebook or electronic device and a bottle of water to all classes.
