Screen Acting Techniques 3

Level: Advanced Techniques

For adults 18 years +

For students who have completed Screen Acting Techniques 2 (or equivalent). This is a fast paced course for students who wish to stretch their existing screen acting skills under the guidance of an industry professional. Students will be sent a range of on screen acting tasks including screen tests, self- tests, scenes and castings. You will present your work and receive feedback and direction from your NIDA Open tutor. Students should prepare their work outside of class hours

Students should be familiar with the basic language of the Stanislavski system and be able to analyse text independently. Please contact the NIDA Open office open@nida.edu.au before enrolling.

Course components

• Weekly feedback on your prepared scene work and on-screen tasks.
• Advanced acting technique.
• Industry necessities: self-tests, screen tests, castings and call backs

Outcomes

• Ability to work quickly with a variety of on-screen material.
• Experience responding to direction in tight time constraints.
• Confidence in a professional shoot or audition.

• Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
• Please bring along a pen, notebook or electronic device and a bottle of water to all classes.
