NIDA Online: The Art of Sound Design
Adults (18+)
Level: Beginner
Develop an understanding of the role of the sound designer within the creative team and learn how sound shapes meaning for an audience. Investigate the principles and primary elements of sound through the examination of a dramatic source. Extract sound elements and develop a sound cue synopsis. Discuss and interrogate practical methods of realising the extracted sound elements in a performance context.

Resources Required to Participate
- Desktop, laptop or mobile with microphone and webcam
- Internet connection
- Stationery: paper, pencils, basic art materials
Time Commitment
- Face to face via Zoom: 4 × 2.5 hour sessions
- Pre-course work: 60 min
