Explore the short film format and collaborate on the making of an original work. Identify production roles, know your equipment and develop skills in visual storytelling using music, sound and lighting to maximise impact. Receive a copy of the scene.
Course components
- Discover what makes an effective short film and undertake practical exercises in storyboarding, filming and editing in the process.
- Build knowledge of production roles and responsibilities and try your hand at a variety of skills whilst on set.
- Develop skills in visual storytelling under the guidance of an industry filmmaker.
Outcomes
- Knowledge of the short film creative and production process.
- Ability to use editing software to create a final cut.
- Creative collaboration on the making of a short film.

- Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
- Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
- Please bring along a pen, notebook or electronic device and a bottle of water to all classes.
