Make-up Essentials

Practise designing and applying make-up and special effects for stage and screen.
Course components
- Design make-up for characters on stage and screen using text as a stimulus.
- Discover the appropriate make up techniques by applying general stage make-up on your fellow participants.
- Apply special effects make-up to re-create bruises, injuries and gore. Experiment with fake blood and nu-skin putty for stage and screen characters.
Outcomes
- Effective application of make-up for stage and screen using the correct technique.
- Ability to develop make-up design using text as stimulus for a broad range of characters.
- Effective application and design special effects make-up.

- Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
- Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
- Please bring along a pen, notebook or electronic device and a bottle of water to all classes.
