Acting: An Introduction

Through practical activities, discover the fundamental skills required for acting. Identify how to create character and how to respond effectively to other performers.
Course components
- Improve your confidence and spontaneity by participating in a range of improvisation exercises.
- Collaborate with a scene partner and gain feedback from an expert
- Discover the fundamentals of Realism technique in acting practice
Outcomes
- Ability to complete a vocal and physical warm up with ease.
- Application of given circumstances and basic acting technique to scene work.
- Awareness of the principles of short form improvisation.

- Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
- Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
- Please bring along a pen, notebook or electronic device and a bottle of water to all classes.
