Jane Grimley

Jane is currently studying a Diploma in Art Therapy, drawing on her previous studies Bachelor of Performance, Theatre Theory and Practise at University of Western Sydney (Theatre Nepean) 2004. She specialises in working with young and emerging artists having facilitated classes for Shopfront Contemporary Arts, The Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, The Song Room and the Sydney Opera House.
In 2018 She trained with Lincoln Centre Education in New York and completed masterclasses in puppetry with Erth and The Dead Puppets Society. This compliments her ongoing training in physical theatre, improvisation and Boal’s theatre of the Oppressed with New York City Theatre of the Oppressed.
Jane co- devised Rockabilly Bandicoot a roving puppetry work commissioned by Inner West Council for The Edge Greenway festival (2019) and The Story Between a new work about hope and human connection presented at the New Beginnings Festival Darling Harbour and 107 in Redfern (2019). Jane directed the immersive theatre work World’s Best Worst House Party, nominated for a Sydney Fringe Festival award (2019). She won the Sydney Fringe Best New Comedy award for her direction of The Hideous Demise of Detective Slate (2010).
